High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Full time and Part time hours available

Daily rate - £95-£110 experience dependant

We are currently looking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching assistant to work at a diverse primary school in the heart of Wakefield. The successful individual must be comfortable managing challenging behaviour if it arises in the classroom and must be confident covering PPA effectively.

As a Higher-Level Teaching assistant you will be leading pre planned lessons to classes across Key stage 1 and Key stage 2 and must be flexible and comfortable working across both Key stages.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) classrooms.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • DBS on the update service or willing to apply.
