Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a warehouse setting and familiarity with sewing machinery will be advantageous.

Duties

  • Operate and monitor CNC machines and manual lathes to produce precision parts.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometres.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the training of new staff as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations is desirable.
  • Experience with sewing machinery is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety practices.
