Accelerate Teaching is excited to partner with a fantastic secondary school in Wakefield to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant for the upcoming academic year. This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team of educators and make a real difference in the lives of students.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide essential help to students with additional needs. You will play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment, ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in managing classroom activities and ensuring a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Providing one-on-one or group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Helping students to engage with the curriculum, develop their confidence, and overcome any learning barriers.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, working closely with teachers to adjust learning plans where necessary.
  • Supporting students with personal care or mobility needs, as required.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a secondary school.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
