Job Title: Fostering Supervising Social Worker
Location: Wakefield
About the Role: We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Fostering Supervising Social Worker to join our clients team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in recruiting, assessing, training, and supporting foster carers. You'll also work to promote the well-being of children placed with foster families and contribute to the development of the fostering service.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Assessment:
    • Actively recruit foster care applicants.
    • Assess potential foster carers to determine their suitability.
    • Promote the recruitment of carers who can meet the diverse needs of children.
  • Training and Support:
    • Develop comprehensive assessments for presentation at fostering panels.
    • Conduct pre-approval preparation and training programs for foster carers.
    • Provide ongoing support to foster carers, including annual reviews and out-of-hours assistance.
  • Placement and Liaison:
    • Match children and young people with appropriate foster carers.
    • Facilitate successful placements by liaising with local authorities and other agencies.
    • Prepare reports and statistical information as required by statutory and internal regulations.
  • General Duties:
    • Participate in regular supervision and annual performance reviews.
    • Attend meetings, training events, and conferences as needed.
    • Uphold values, including promoting equality and diversity.
    • Undertake other duties as required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.


What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified social worker with at least 2 years of experience working with children and families.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social networking tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
