An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Wakefield Metropolitan District Council based in Pontefract.
This is a temporary Children's Social Worker role within the Locality Team.

In this role you will benefit from a competitive hourly rate of up to 38 per hour umbrella, dependent on experience whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment. This is a hybrid role with 4 days in the office and 1 from home.

Working within the Locality Team includes but is not limited to:

* Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
* Undertaking Initial Assessments under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
* Undertaking Core Assessments and Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989
* Undertaking assessments using the Common Assessment Framework
* Completion of Section 7 and Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts
* Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/ to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
* Liaising/Working close with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/young peoples needs
* Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
* Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
* Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans
* Completion of Care Proceedings
* Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
* Preparing and presenting case conference reports
* Completing/reviewing/implementing CIN plans
* Chairing Children in Need meetings

For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered, as well as have at least 3 years post qualifying experience.
