We are currently a full time Social Worker within the Mainstream Team of the Fostering Service, Wakefield.

At Fostering Wakefield, we work at pace to try and ensure that we have a fostering service that meets the needs of our children and young people in foster care and allows them to feel safe, secure, and able to thrive.

Thriving children in thriving families need exceptional people to support them. Being a Senior Social Worker within a busy team you will be passionate about matching children to the right foster carers, providing placement stability, and achieving good outcomes and permanence for children.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
