Empowering learning are recruiting Psychology & Sociology Graduates to work on a full-time basis as a Learning Support Assistant within SEND Schools across Wakefield. You will be supporting pupils with different SEND needs such as Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex needs and Challenging behaviour. This position will give anyone considering a future in teaching valuable classroom-based experience working as a 1:1 support assistant. We are seeking enthusiastic and hands-on Teaching Assistants that can take direction. If you are looking to start a career in Education, this is a great way to get yourself started, and this role will also suit anyone looking for part-time work while studying.
Job Responsibilities

Comfortable supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational needs

Job Requirements

Experience of supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities desirable

Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour

Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
