Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Tradewind is looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant (TA) to join our pre-school team in Wakefield for four and a half days a week, starting after the October half term on November 5th.

About the Role: We are seeking a SEN teaching assistant with a strong background in supporting children with Autism (ASC). You will play a crucial role in creating a warm and stimulating environment, guiding children through their early learning experiences.

Key Details:

  • Start Date: November 5, 2024 (immediately after the October half term)
  • Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (four and a half days with Wednesday being half day).
  • Location: Nursery school setting in Wakefield

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, social, and emotional development, particularly for children with autism.
  • Support the lead teacher in creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment tailored to individual needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence, confidence, and curiosity.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and contributing to individual learning plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure every child's needs are met, helping them thrive in their learning journey.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Level 2 TA qualification is required; Level 3 is preferred.
