Overall Purpose of the Post:

  • To manage a caseload of children with Education Health and Care plans to ensure that all appropriate actions relating to statutory requirements are met.
  • To undertake casework relating to new requests for statutory assessment to ensure that the case is prepared for a decision by SEN panel.
  • To write Education Health and Care Plans and make any amendments as required.

Experience

  • Extensive experience of working in the area of SEN, or substantial experience in a relevant area.
  • Working with others from a range of professional backgrounds
  • Working with parents and children Working in an educational setting
  • Applying solution focussed techniques to address positive outcomes from meetings for participants
  • Assessment used in schools by teaching staff and other professionals

Qualifications/ Training

  • The applicant must have completed Child Protection Training (and undertake upstaged training as required), including the Common Assessment Framework, or be willing to undertake this training on appointment.
  • The applicant must have completed training related to Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation (and update this as required) or be willing to undertake this training upon appointment.
