NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Specialist Autism School in Wakefield who are looking for an Advanced Autism Complex Needs Support Assistant to work with students aged 11+

The students in this class have severe Autism and have a low cognitive age meaning majority of these students require 1:1 support and personal care.

This is a full-time position starting ideally as soon as possible and will be for a temporary to permanent contract with the school working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm during term time with 13 weeks of holiday per year.

This school has great transport links from Wakefield City Centre and has a bus stop across the road from the school.

This school is keen to support aspiring individuals who are looking for career progression.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • 1 years experience in a similar role
  • Have experience working with young people with complex needs
  • Experience working with people with Autism
  • Have experience with changing and personal care
  • Have a passion to support children with additional needs
  • Have full-time availability
  • Have a DBS on the update service or, willingness to complete one
