About the Role: As a SCERTS Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored educational programmes using the SCERTS model, supporting the development of students with a range of special needs, including autism. You will play a key role in implementing structured interventions aimed at enhancing social communication and emotional regulation, while supporting student engagement in everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons using the SCERTS framework.
  • Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other members of staff to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Engage with parents and carers, offering guidance and updates on student progress.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of each student, adapting teaching methods where necessary to ensure continued development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a SCERTS Teacher in an SEND setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the SCERTS model and its application in education.
  • A passionate, empathetic approach to teaching with a genuine desire to support young people with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience working within an SEND framework.
