Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a full-time role working night shifts (7pm-7am, 3 shifts per week, including some weekends). The care home is set in a peaceful rural location and provides personal and dementia care for up to 41 residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide the highest standards of care, supporting residents in all aspects of daily living.
  • Promote residents' independence, dignity, and wellbeing with a person-centred approach.
  • Lead shifts to ensure the care team delivers consistent, high-quality care.
  • Administer and document medications accurately and oversee daily chart completion.
  • Mentor and support team members, promoting good practices and addressing areas of improvement.
  • Participate in handovers and ensure excellent communication across shifts.
Requirements:
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care).
  • At least two years of experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
  • A strong understanding of person-centred care planning and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a caring and enthusiastic attitude.
