Your new companyHays Recruitment are working in partnership with a primary school in Wirral as they are looking for a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to support a student in year 2 on a 1:1 basis. This is a long-term role that will last until the end of the academic year with a chance to be extended next academic year.Your new roleIn your new role, you will be supporting a year 2 student on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day. The role will consist of a mix of class-room based support and booster sessions in core subjects as required. You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that learning material is inclusive and accessible to meet the pupils' needs. You will be required to effectively manage behaviours by using de-escalation, distraction and taking them out of the classroom as required as they can present challenging behaviour.What you'll need to succeedTo be successful with your application, you must have full right to work in the UK as well as referenceable experience supporting children and young people, as well as:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within the last two years
  • Experience supporting with SEND
