About Us:Spencer Clarke Group is seeking a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support SATs interventions at a welcoming primary school in Wallasey. This role is ideal for a dedicated and experienced TA who can provide targeted support to pupils in preparation for their SATs exams.

The Role:As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver small group and one-to-one interventions focusing on English and Maths. Your role will be essential in helping pupils build confidence and achieve their full potential ahead of their SATs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in small group or 1:1 interventions, focusing on Maths and English.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to identify target areas for improvement.
  • Provide encouragement and motivation to help pupils feel confident in their learning.
  • Assist with exam techniques and revision strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teachers.
  • Maintain a positive and focused learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting Year 6 pupils, ideally with SATs preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of KS2 Maths and English curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils and support their confidence.
  • A patient and encouraging approach to learning.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
