Ganymede Solutions are partnering with a well-recognised UK train operating company who serves the travelling public from London to Essex, operating 25 stations on their line. In 2023, they achieved over 33 million journeys. Of note, they have 80 active fleets in operation, with an ever growing presence in the railway/rolling stock sector. On behalf of client, Ganymede are seeking to hire a Maintenance Electrician to carry out electrical maintenance and fault finding across their depot facilities at their East Ham Train Depot and a secondary depot in Essex. Our client is seeking to hire a responsible, reliable and competent Maintenance Electrician.

 

The Role:

As a Maintenance Electrician, your key duties will see you perform electrical PPM’s and reactive maintenance tasks at the train depot(s). You will be based in East Ham but will be required to travel to and from the secondary depot in Shoeburyness, Southend.

Your duties as a Maintenance Electrician are as follows:

  • Electrical PPMs
  • Reactive maintenance on the electrical plant
  • Maintenance of 3 phase motors
  • Emergency lighting testing and maintenance
  • Fire alarm testing
  • Testing and inspections on the electrical plant

The shifts & hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8am - 16pm, with on call duties required when specified with some weekend working available/required at managements discretion.

  • Previous experience in the Facilities Management or FMCG sectors – minimum 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Electrician
  • 18th Edition
  • Electrical Installations qualification to Level 2/3 or Parts 1 & 2 
  • C&G qualification in Testing & Inspection
  • Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test.
  • Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, sight, hearing, colourisation, heart, lungs, brain, etc…
  • Be able to pass PTS (Personal Track Safety Course).
  • Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment.
  • Happy to help mentality/attitude.
