We are on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Production Quality Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. If you have a strong technical and mechanical background, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As a Production Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards within our manufacturing team. Your expertise will be crucial in managing all quality-related issues, from internal processes to customer warranties. You will be the driving force behind continuous improvement, identifying root causes of production quality issues, and implementing permanent corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality control from goods inwards inspection through the production process, ensuring efficient and timely resolution of all quality-related non-conformities.
  • Maintain and update the company Quality Assurance database (NCR) with the goal of reducing both internal and external non-conformities.
  • Promote a culture of Right First Time (RFT) throughout production by managing daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, ensuring process compliance, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and maintain a strategic Goods Inwards QA inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet required specifications.
  • Communicate quality defects affecting production with all stakeholders, including the supplier quality engineer, to ensure timely resolution.
  • Record all Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and develop reporting processes to enable clear identification, tracking, and resolution of QA issues.
  • Assist the Supplier Quality Engineer in reviewing supplier metrics to improve the Cost of Poor Quality and its impact on the production line.
  • Provide quarterly reports on QA performance and feedback quality data to production teams in regular meetings.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering/science degree preferred, or equivalent qualifications such as ONC, A Levels, BTec.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in a similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge, preferably in the marine, aerospace, or automotive industry.
  • Experience with product inspection, internal auditing, and familiarity with QMS procedures. Proficient in MS Office, Adobe software, and SAP. Strong knowledge of FAIR, PPAP, FMEA, and ISO standards (AS9100 and ISO 9001).
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
