Reed Engineering is thrilled to partner with a leading boat manufacturer that is expanding its quality team. A fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to lead the quality inspection team. If you have a strong technical and mechanical background, and a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards, we want to hear from you!

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with design, quality standards, and customer requirements. Your role is essential in managing supplier quality issues, maintaining our NCR database, and supporting the integration of ISO 9001/ISO 14001 management systems. Your extensive experience in quality assurance within a dynamic production environment will be invaluable.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the quality inspection team to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage processes covering raw materials and moulded components throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and manage supplier quality issues and conduct quality inspections of supplied components.
  • Maintain the company NCR database and support the onboarding of Integrated Management Systems.
  • Assist the production line with supplier-related quality issues to promote a Right First Time (RFT) culture.
  • Facilitate rework/repair of supplier-related non-conformances.
  • Manage and maintain quality inspection dashboards, prioritize daily inspection requirements, implement corrective actions, and monitor trends.
  • Work with suppliers to improve performance through PDCA interactions.
  • Conduct quality control for critical components, ensuring efficient resolution of non-conformities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Science preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment.
  • Strong supplier validation auditing skills and successful supplier development.
  • Proficient in technical knowledge, preferably in marine, aerospace, or automotive industries.
  • Experience with product inspection, QMS procedures, and robust supplier quality procedures. Strong knowledge of FAIR, PPAP, FMEA, and ISO 9001; knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 14001 preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe software.
