We are seeking a diligent Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate who has a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or (Part) Qualified in ACCA or CIMA. The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, including preparing monthly reports, reconciling accounts, and managing financial statements.
Day-to-day of the role:- Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure accounts reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Process invoices and resolve any related queries to ensure timely payment.
- Manage assigned accounts and monitor payment status to reduce past-due payments.
- Liaise with service providers, such as BT, to resolve any billing queries.
- Maintain detailed and current records of inventory and business finances.
- Proactively follow up on customer outstanding balances through email and calls.
- Perform bank reconciliations at the end of each month.
- Update details and maintain accurate records on Sage and Salesforce.
- Ensure direct debits and payments are matched up correctly.
- Generate accounts weekly/monthly reports to provide insights into business performance.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or at least Part Qualified in ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Sage, and CRM systems like Salesforce.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to resolve invoice queries effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Good communication skills for following up on payments and dealing with queries.
