Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to load, unload, and pack goods into lorries for distribution. This is a role that requires precision, efficiency, and attention to safety protocols. The ideal candidate must also have a full UK driving licence to collect goods prior to loading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift to load and unload materials and products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Pack goods and products into lorries according to delivery requirements.
  • Ensure that items are securely loaded to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Collect goods from designated locations prior to loading, using a vehicle (must have a full UK driving licence).
  • Conduct routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, tracking items loaded and unloaded.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as required, such as stock organisation or palletising items.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid forklift certification (counterbalance and reach truck experience preferred).
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and pack goods into lorries.
  • Full UK driving licence to collect goods prior to loading.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to forklift operation.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling goods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with loading and unloading different types of products (e.g., perishable goods, fragile items).
  • Experience in warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking systems.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting for forklifts.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position with potential for overtime as needed.
