REED is thrilled to partner with a reputable client in the Waste and Recycling industry, currently expanding and seeking a talented Business Development Manager.

Role Overview: As a Business Development Manager, you will spearhead the bid process to secure new contracts and business opportunities. Your ability to craft compelling proposals, understand client needs, and coordinate with various stakeholders will be pivotal to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Bid Development: Oversee the entire bid development process from inception to completion, ensuring all proposals are strategically aligned with business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance, to gather essential information and insights for bid proposals.
  • Proposal Writing: Develop and write high-quality, persuasive proposals and presentations that effectively communicate our value proposition to potential clients.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their needs, tailor proposals to meet those needs, and build strong relationships to enhance business opportunities.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure all bid submissions are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement feedback and lessons learned from previous bids to continuously improve the bid development process and increase win rates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in bid management, business development, or a similar role within the waste and recycling industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the waste and recycling industry, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze client requirements, market data, and competitive information to develop winning bid strategies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all bid documents and presentations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Education: A degree in business, marketing, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.

Salary:

  • £65,000 basic (negotiable) + bonus
