A bespoke equipment and design consultancy is now looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business, with a full order book for the next 2 years who can offer interesting projects within the fields of power generation and renewable energy.

 

Control Systems Engineer  

£40,000 - £60,000 + Private Medical Care, Allowance

Annual bonus 30% of basic salary £10-20k

37.5 hours a week with Hybrid working options

Control Systems Engineer  - The Role:

  • Concept design of electrical power and control systems for bespoke equipment
  • Hardware design including component selection and supporting calculations
  • Design of ethernet and serial networks
  • PLC programming (Siemens TIA / Rockwell)
  • Technical documentation to support equipment (specifications, risk assessments, manuals, etc)
  • Client support – on-site and remote
  • Peer review of engineering designs
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning activities (20% max)

Control Systems Engineer  - The Person:

  • Ideally Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
  • Hardware design experience essential
  • PLC Software experience – Siemens or Rockwell preferred
  • Familiarity of AutoCAD Electrical useful but not essential
  • Experience of Power Systems or HV highly desirable for this role
  • Ability to work on projects without direct supervision
  • Flexibility to travel for commissioning outside the UK when required
  • Clear thinker with tenacity to solve technical problems
  • Adaptable and willing to take on challenges

Located in  Tyne & Wear, this role would be commutable from Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Chester-le-Street and surrounding areas. We are also handling a Junior opportunity - Graduate + 1 years experience - Control Systems or Electrical Design.
