An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Financial Controller to join a dynamic team in North Birmingham. This role offers the chance to utilise your financial expertise in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing company finances. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing all company accounts, creating monthly and annual reports, managing cash flow, supervising financial department staff, motivating finance team members, and suggesting improvements for accounting systems. Your keen eye for detail coupled with your passion for finance will ensure the smooth running of our financial operations.
- Oversee all company accounts and investments
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
- Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
- Supervise and manage financial department staff, including accountants and financial assistants
- Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
What the successful candidate will bring
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- Ability to strategise and solve problems
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
