We are seeking a Management Accountant responsible for the preparation and accuracy of monthly management accounts, ensuring the integrity and compliance of all accounting records. This role involves close collaboration with Financial and Commercial Managers the Director, and various department heads. The successful candidate will also support Credit Control and Cost Clerk functions.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts, highlighting variances and trends.
  • Reconcile revenue and costs to the finance accounting records.
  • Prepare and post month-end journals and approve intercompany transactions.
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, ensuring efficient resolution of aged invoices.
  • Work with sales teams and credit control to manage cash collection and evaluate customer creditworthiness.
  • Coordinate bank payments, receipts, and reconciliations.
  • Schedule and conduct monthly reviews with department managers to discuss financial figures.
  • Prepare capital expenditure business cases and analyse financial data for decision-making support.
  • Provide financial data for R&D expenditure submissions.
  • Produce weekly charge reports and resolve complex customer transaction issues.
  • Support the year-end audit process and drive continuous improvement within the Management Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified, Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in formulas and pivot tables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver accurate information promptly.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with a challenging and inquisitive nature.
Desirable:
  • Experience in construction, plant hire, or sales and distribution.
