Consultant Anaesthetist - Walsall NHS

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join the Anaesthetic team at Walsall NHS on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the General Anaesthetic team to deliver a high-quality, progressive, and professional anaesthetic service across a broad range of specialties, including obstetrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide anaesthetic services to a wide range of specialties, with opportunities to develop special interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Bariatrics, Colorectal Anaesthesia, Preassessment, Simulation, or Education.
  • Ensure the safe and effective delivery of anaesthesia to patients across the hospital, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in service development initiatives to improve patient care and safety.
  • Maintain high professional standards and contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior staff.
Role Details:
  • The post is offered at 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, with an additional 2 PAs per week negotiable following a review.
  • Work in close collaboration with consultants and junior doctors to enhance anaesthetic care delivery across various departments.
Requirements:
  • Medical Degree from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time postgraduate training or equivalent part-time experience and competencies.
  • 2 years' experience post-training in anaesthesia.
  • ALS certification (Advanced Life Support) required before starting.
  • Experience in obstetric anaesthesia and interest in developing other specialty areas is advantageous.

Please also bear in mind our £250 referral fee bonus for any nurse you refer who we place in to work on a 3-month contract.We also offer a £400 sign up bonus for any new Qualifed that register with our agency.
