ROLE PURPOSE

Our clients are seeking an experienced and passionate Commercial Fire and Security Training Manager to lead the development and delivery of training programs for fire and security systems within the sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive training strategy to ensure our learners are skilled, certified, and aligned with industry standards. This role is critical to maintaining excellence in service delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and deliver training programs on fire and security systems (e.g. CCTV, access control, fire alarms, and intruder detection).

Create tailored training modules for external clients.

Use a blend of training methods including in-person workshops, e-learning, and hands-on demonstrations.

Support continuous improvement by revising training materials/programmes as needed.

Stay updated on technological advancements in fire and security systems and incorporate them into training.

Ensure all training programs meet industry standards and regulatory compliance (e.g. BAFE, NSI, FIA).

Oversee the certification process in relevant fire and security qualifications.

Maintain records of training and certifications for audit and compliance purposes.

Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.

Identify skills gaps and recommend or implement additional training solutions.

Collaborate with stakeholders to align training with business objectives and employee career progression.

Build relationships with external training providers, stakeholders and certification bodies.

Liaise with key industry partners to deliver bespoke training solutions.

Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

Leverage industry knowledge and connections to identify and pursue B2B sales opportunities for training services.

Develop partnerships with businesses to create customised training programs that meet their specific needs.

Utilise insights from industry trends and customer feedback to tailor offerings and enhance market competitiveness.

Develop and manage the training budget effectively.

Produce regular reports on training activities, outcomes, and ROI for senior management and stakeholders.

Maintain and improve training facilities, tools, and materials.

Utilise data effectively to collect and evaluate learning activities to report on trends and recommend solutions.

Essential:

Proven experience in a training role within the fire and security industry.

Comprehensive knowledge of fire and security systems (e.g. Honeywell, Texecom, Hikvision, etc.).

Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and regulations (e.g. BAFE, NSI, BS 5839).

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.

Ability to design and deliver both technical and soft skills training.

Desirable:

Certified Trainer (e.g. CIPD Level 3 in Learning and Development, FIA trainer qualifications).

Technical certifications related to fire and security systems (e.g. FIA, BAFE, or equivalent).

Experience with instructional design and curriculum development.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training effectiveness.

Adaptability to work with various stakeholders and adjust training based on needs.
