Job Summary:

My client is the UKs largest distributor of lifting and construction gear and are looking for an Area Sales Manager to come in and cover the North of England. This role will be looking after current accounts and generating new business opportunities across the North of the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to take a step up in their career and work for a market leader.

They are looking for a motivated self-starter who wants to make an impact quickly and this territory already has circa 200 active accounts!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and growing existing accounts in a consultative way demonstrating the technical side of the products and their applications
  • Identify and engage with new business opportunities to provide continuous growth within the region
  • Work with other departments within the business in order to provide an efficient and streamlined service to customers
  • Provide support and consulting for existing customers when they have issues

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills, in this role you will be responsible for looking after your own accounts and how to manager them to maximise revenue
  • Negotiation: Negotiation with clients will be an everyday occurrence. Being able to negotiate effectively whilst ensuring quality for the customer and margin for the business is a crucial part of this role. You will negotiate independently
  • Communication: Due to a diverse customer base, excellent communication skills are imperative. This role is predominantly field based which means both face-to-face communication and phone communication must be exceptional
  • Analytical: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions. It is important with this role to observe market trends and make proactive decisions based on them.
  • Customer Focus: Deep commitment to customer satisfaction and experience in fostering long-term client relationships.
  • Experience: You must have a manufacturing or technical sales background
