George Taylor Lifting Gear is the leading distributor of lifting, height safety and mechanical handling solutions to the lifting, construction, PPE and oil and gas sectors in the UK. Delivering to a variety of business to business customers in both the private and national sectors from small independent owners to national and international businesses.The role will be remote and office based and the candidate will ideally be based within reasonable proximity to the Midlands Head Office in the Walsall area. The Junior Area Sales Manager's primary task is to increase sales and profitability within their assigned areas. The Junior Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities within identified sectors, through face to face contact, remote, IT and social media activity, new business identification and conversion all whilst ensuring customer needs are met, ensuring that the company's presence in their assigned areas is meeting the highest possible standards and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use a consultative approach to sell the benefits of George Taylor Lifting Gear to new & prospective clients
  • Achieve sales and profit targets as set by Sales Manager
  • Exceed new business targets
  • Field support for all accounts in given areas
  • Identifying and qualifying customer opportunities for new product sales.
  • Develop and broaden relationships with new customers while identifying and qualifying opportunities for new product sales
  • Maximise sales opportunities within each customer by selling the complete range of services
  • Work closely with other departments including purchasing, operations and internal sales teams to implement an effective sales strategy for your given areas
  • Define a target list of customers and prospects for development
  • Deliver effective tender responses to specific customer opportunities

This is a remote and office based Account Manager/New business role providing support to the sales team in a sector specific environment. This role will require frequent travel including multi-day trips. The successful candidate will have the ability to absorb and impart information to others and work within standard operating procedures. Ideally the person fulfilling the role will have a desire to learn, a will to succeed and a desire to be successful within an external sales environment. Full training will be provided and industry experience is not required. Previous roles in an internal or external sales environment is preferred.
