The Opportunity: Infrastructure Engineer

Contract: Permanent 

Location: Cannock

The Impact you will have:

  • Working on the Infrastructure call queue.
  • Assisting with, and managing technical projects
  • Ensuring the Briggs IT estate is kept up to date via patching and firmware updates as appropriate.
  • Managing BAU supporting systems such as MECM, Intune, Manage and Solarwinds.
  • Monitor infrastructure capacity and escalate any capacity issues when identified.
  • When required support technical projects.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure documentation is kept up to date

What will help you to excel in this role:

  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure systems used to support an IT environment such as DNS, DHCP, Certificates and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center products, specifically Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Intune and their use to support the deployment of applications, patches and operating systems and configurations
  • Understanding of Microsoft Server operating systems from Server 2008 to Server 2022
  • Good working knowledge of Office365 including Exchange Online, Teams and Entra ID.
  • Good working knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing, switching, routing and Wifi configurations.
  • Ability to produce concise and consistent documentation
  • A professional, process-based approach with a desire to see things through to completion is imperative.
  • A desire to learn and adopt new ways of working.
