Senior Engineer - Civil Engineering Projects

Location: Various locations within 40 miles of WalsallSalary: £55,000 per annumEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (45 hours/week)

The Role:As a Senior Engineer, you will oversee multiple projects in the region, providing site engineering duties and supervising trainees and engineers. You will establish survey control for contracts, set out detailed works, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

The client:

This client is a large privately owned Civil Engineering and Infrastructure business that has a direct delivery approach and has been awarded long term work through various frameworks and infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up survey control and hand over for daily setting out.
  • Manage critical setting out activities and ensure regular checks.
  • Ensure health and safety, environmental, and quality standards are met.
  • Assist in developing efficient work methods and techniques.
  • Supervise and support engineers, providing mentorship and feedback.
  • Ensure accurate material procurement, quality audits, and resource management.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Prepare method statements, ITPs, and manage site records and reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in setting out on civil engineering projects (highways, infrastructure, reinforced concrete).
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
  • CSCS card, SMSTS, Confined Space training.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Proven track record in managing projects with minimal guidance.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
