Your new companyYou will be joining an established organisation in Walsall who are specialists in Civil Engineering and Infrastructure. This is a permanent requirement to join their teams, starting at the end of March, offering hybrid working.

Your new roleYou will be providing administrative support to construction duties and regional support teams, mainly with ordering plant and construction equipment. You will need to ensure that correct paperwork is provided in line with SLAs, alongside achieving maximum cost efficiency for the delivery team. The role will involve communicating across the business as well as with external suppliers, trade bodies and other professionals. Key duties are:

  • Raising hire orders using the ERP system
  • Communicate with project teams for equipment requirements
  • Support project teams with resource plans
  • Ensure all orders are sent to suppliers, site teams and advise on delivery times
  • Maintain health and safety compliance
  • Act as first point of contact for hire-related issues including delivery times
  • Escalate unresolved issues
  • Monthly reporting

This is a full-time role, a 40-hour week, working Monday to Friday, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills
  • Negotiation, influencing and presentation capability
  • IT literate with the ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office suite of packages
  • Previous plant control/hire desk experience or working in a plant hire environment preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction/civil engineering would be desirable but not essential.
