Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support

About the Role:

Colmore Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student in a mainstream secondary school located in Walsall. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a student’s academic and personal development, starting immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a student with specific educational needs, ensuring their learning objectives are met.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for the student.

  • Monitor and report on the student's progress to the class teacher and SENCO.

  • Support the student in building confidence, social skills, and independence.

  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably on a 1:1 basis.

  • A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
