About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming and inclusive school in Walsall. This is a full-time position offering a competitive daily rate.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pupil's learning, emotional development, and overall progress, ensuring they thrive in a supportive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with specific learning, behavioral, or physical needs.
  • Supporting the class teacher with tailored interventions and resources to meet the pupil's individual requirements.
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in lessons, ensuring the pupil feels supported and valued.
  • Monitoring and recording progress, reporting to the teacher and SENCO as required.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Building a strong relationship with the pupil, promoting confidence and independence.
About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the pupil's unique needs.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the pupil, staff, and parents.
  • Be confident in managing challenging behaviors and implementing positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
