Halcyon Care (West Midlands) ltd is delighted to be assisting a leading Children’s Residential Care Provider in their search for a dedicated and experienced Responsible Individual/Operations Manager. This pivotal role will oversee multiple residential care homes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.

**Job Description:**

The Responsible Individual/Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the provider's residential services. You will work closely with Registered Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, safeguarding, and support for children and young people. As a strategic leader, you will provide guidance and leadership to Registered Managers and care staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to Registered Managers and care staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote best practises.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and service delivery.
  • Managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Liaising with external agencies, families, and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Conduct regular supervision and appraisals for Registered Managers.
  • Ensure all residential homes meet and exceed Ofsted standards.
  • Handle any safeguarding issues promptly and effectively.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Report directly to senior management on operational performance.

**Requirements:**

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a similar senior role within children’s residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex situations.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple services.
