Salary: £52,592 - £55,469 per annum (plus car allowance & excellent benefits)

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Contract: Permanent, full time – hybrid working, but presence in the office and on site required to meet business need.

Overview of role:

Are you an experienced assets professional with working knowledge of assets energy efficiency initiatives, able to analyse large amounts of data as well as operate strategically, thinking of the longer term and bigger picture? 

We have an exciting opportunity to for an experienced Energy Performance Manager to join our growing Assets Investment Team. Reporting into the Asset Manager, this new role will be integral to influencing how we reach our decarbonisation and energy efficiency plans, including meeting key milestones along the way such as reaching EPC for all of our properties by 2030. 

You’ll also be responsible for our communal energy supplies and our solar PV and heat network portfolio. It goes without saying you’ll need to operate commercially, always considering value for money so we get the best deal for both the organisation and our customers. 

This role will act as the subject matter expert in energy efficiency for our assets, therefore having great influence over how whg shapes it energy efficiency strategy. You’ll work collaboratively with a range of teams within whg, including advising senior management and the Executive, and also build and maintain strong relationships with relevant external parties.  

We’ll need you to have a relevant degree level professional qualification or be qualified by experience, as well as having extensive knowledge of energy and sustainability matters (including relevant legislation and guidance) in relation to assets in the social housing sector. We’ll also need you to have some experience of funding applications.
