Robert Half is delighted to be working on an exclusive, retained basis with a rapidly growing FMCG business in Walsall, recently acquired as a subsidiary of a large European group. We are seeking an accomplished Finance Director to lead the end-to-end accounting function and drive financial strategy in this pivotal role.
Role Overview
As Finance Director, you will take ownership of the entire accounting function, overseeing a team of 6 finance professionals. Your key responsibility will be to serve as a strategic partner to the UK Managing Director and the wider executive team, providing insightful financial guidance to support the company's ambitious growth agenda.
In this role, you will be instrumental in aligning the business to double-digit growth objectives and enhancing the company's understanding of key financial data and metrics. This is an opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Accounting Oversight: Manage the full spectrum of the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective controls.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to inform decision-making at the highest level.
- Business Partnering: Work closely with the UK Managing Director and senior leadership, translating financial data into actionable insights that support business strategy.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6 finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), with a strong background in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or commercial business partnering. You will have a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments, ideally within the FMCG sector, and a clear ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong background in FP&A / Commercial Business Partnering
- Experience managing a finance team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to drive business growth through financial insights
- FMCG experience is highly desirable
