Job Title: Commercial and Technical Estimator

Location: Walsall

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team. You will play a critical role in delivering accurate price calculations for new Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and current assemblies, interpreting customer Bill of Materials (BoM) and schematics to create comprehensive sales proposals. You will also maintain a supplier and product database, helping drive efficiency and improvements across our processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, interpret, and calculate prices based on customer BOM and schematics.
  • Create detailed commercial sales proposals.
  • Maintain and manage the RFQ database of suppliers, brands, and product categories.
  • Collaborate with production teams and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide weekly progress updates on quotations and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Foster clear communication with internal teams and external customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Actively participate in safety, quality, and productivity initiatives, including problem-solving and risk assessment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial estimating within an electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Competency in interpreting detailed BoMs and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders of varying complexity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Product knowledge of electrical control cabinets or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
