We are looking for a passionate, bubbly & experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Walsall.Â
The role is working with groups of pupils with varying SEND and Behaviour Needs.Â
The position is to start from ASAP, full time on a long term basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEN, such as Autism, non-verbal and sensory needs, adapting your approach to meet their needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic approach to student development.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working in a similar role such as within a SEN setting.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a childcare qualification).
- Understanding of different learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
- DBS registered to the update service.
- Assist in the educational process by helping to implement lesson plans tailored for individual needs.
