We are looking for a passionate, bubbly & experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Walsall. 

The role is working with groups of pupils with varying SEND and Behaviour Needs. 

The position is to start from ASAP, full time on a long term basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN, such as Autism, non-verbal and sensory needs, adapting your approach to meet their needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic approach to student development.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role such as within a SEN setting.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a childcare qualification).
  • Understanding of different learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
  • DBS registered to the update service.
  • Assist in the educational process by helping to implement lesson plans tailored for individual needs.

 

Please note: In order to qualify for the higher end of the pay scale you must have three years' experience as an SEND Teaching Assistant
