Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Walsall, to provide one-on-one support for a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The ideal candidate will have a nurturing, caring nature, with a commitment to helping children achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs.
Assist with both academic and emotional support throughout the school day.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning strategies.
Create a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment.
Encourage social skills and positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
Support the pupil in developing self-regulation and confidence in their learning.

Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children, preferably those with SEMH or additional needs.
A nurturing and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A positive and proactive attitude toward supporting student development.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
A commitment to supporting the welfare and safeguarding of children.

Supply TA Experience, Training, and Qualifications
It is essential that you have SEN Teaching assistant experience, along with a relevant qualification Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/TA
Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.

To be eligible for any teaching job with Prospero Teaching, you must
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional child-related references.
