A Legal 500-recognised law firm with multiple offices across the South-West of England, the Midlands and Wales is seeking a billing coordinator for its Walsall office which has a proven track record of delivering exceptional legal aid services to clients. 

Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Aid Billing Coordinator, your main role will be to manage claim processes for disbursements and expert invoices submitted to the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) for the Family/Care Department. This will involve:

  • Prepare and submit claims for payments on account (POA) to support quarterly billing cycles
  • Process final, appeal and adjustment bills drafted by a Costs Draftsman
  • Submit Court of Protection (COP) court-assessed bills via e-filing
  • Resolve accounts ledger queries related to billing
  • Reconcile Legal Aid Statements, ensuring accurate cost allocation and bill postings
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Legal Aid Agency and coordinate with family/care department staff
  • Prepare and submit exceptional mental health legal help bills
