Our client, an ambitious company who wants to deliver the best professional waste management solutions across the UK, is looking for the perfect candidate to be a stock control manager. The ideal person for this role will have exceptional communication skills including executive levels, excellent organization and time management skills. negotiation skills with customers and suppliers and has the ability to motivate and influence others.

Objective of the role:

  • Management of stock levels of accepted waste at the Brownhills facility. This will include and not be limited to: Approval of incoming loads ensuring there is enough storage capacity to accept them.
  • Management of the onsite Stock Sheet.
  • Ensure outgoing dispatches of waste are appropriately listed, quoted for by a disposal supplier and are profitable, have an appropriate IPO raised and will be dispatched in a manner from site that is safe and legal to be transport on the road.
  • Management for the day to day activities of the Stock Control Administrator and the Stock Control Chemist.
  • Manage, develop and expand relationships with suppliers to maximise profitability for the Red Group

Responsibilities of the stock control manager:

  • Ensure authorisation is given to bookings of waste that will allow appropriate storage in line with Sector Guidance Note 5.06.
  • Physical count of all stored pallets of waste on site every Monday morning to work to a KPI of zero stock over 6 months old from date of acceptance.
  • Ensure sampling of accepted waste is completed to supply to internal laboratory for further analysis or to pass on to suppliers to confirm suitability for acceptance.
  • Ensure that pre-acceptance and post acceptance samples are moved to Sneyd Hill site daily via outgoing loads to the site.
  • Provide outgoing disposal lists of material for Stock Control Administrator to transpose onto DBR system.

 

Personal specifications:

  • Familiar with computer literate, especially using Microsoft Excel and outlook
  • Experience in the hazardous waste sector for at least 3 years
  • Experience working in a health and safety driven business with knowledge of the health and work act 1974 and the management of the health and safety at work regulations 1999.
  • Experience working to HSG51- the storage of flammable liquids in containers, HSG 71 chemical warehousing: the storage of packaged dangerous substances and experience in working in a small team.
  • The perfect candidate will also need a HNC or degree level qualification in chemistry or a similar related field
  • IOSH managing safety and knowledge of hazardous waste regulations 2005,
  • Environmental protection Act 1990, environmental permitting regulations 20
