A fantastic opening has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a leading Supplier in the West Midlands area. Here you will be responsible for the day-to-day running and management of the warehouse, bringing your previous experience in operational management, which is linked to a warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your vision, with the ability to implement change and time efficiencies, all the while maintaining a key focus on lean principles and being an integral part of the site’s future growth. Key Responsibilities:• Ability to implement changes and new processes• Vision to optimise the warehouse space and storage, for ease and time efficiencies• Oversee that all customer orders are processed accurately and meet complete requirements • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships • Ensure all staff focus on the customer and meet their needs and requirements• Maintain fleet operations in line with legal requirements and company EHS and transport policy• Manage workplace and equipment in line with legal requirements and EHS policy• Achieves and exceed service excellence levels • Ensure all staff focus on the customer and find ways to meet customer needs converting business strategy into practical day to day activities • Instil a customer service ethic throughout the branch and ensure queries are dealt with efficiently.• Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.• Ensure strong communications between operations, telesales and sales.• Develop annual warehouse budget for discussion with senior management• Ensure that warehouse operational costs are maintained within budget • Provide regular and ad hoc operational reports as requested.• Meet company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action if needed• Lead a team and be responsible for operating in line with site compliance & standards• Provides support, manage, development and coaching to all team members • Lead from the front, whilst be a key team player• Have the confidence to delegate and recognises strengths within the team• Excellent communication skills and hold to ability to all motivate others • Ability to turn your hand to other areas to meet deadlines.• Forward thinking mindset, ability to adapt to changes in a fast-moving environment• Ensure that the site is fully compliant in all areas of Health & Safety• Ensure safe working practices and that all the team endear to these policies Required Experience:• Create cost plans to achieve budget with a keen understanding of P&L• Produce regular reports as required.• Recognises the need for a vision and achieve short-term goals for the business and team • Plans team projects, works effectively identifying goals, timelines and resources needed • Ensures team members ‘buy-in’ to the plan and contribute to its development where appropriate• Recruit, train, assess and develop staff of the required number and calibre• Develop and implement KPI’s to measure and improve operational performance• Effective team leader & manager.
