Site Agent/Manager
Location: Finsbury Park, London
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + car allowance + excellent benefits
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Site Agent/Manager to oversee the successful delivery of various projects within the Civils and Water sectors. The Site Agent will manage the construction site, ensuring that projects meet the required quality, timeline, safety standards, and environmental impact, while maintaining cost control. The role will involve close collaboration with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, engineers, and quantity surveyors to ensure all objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
- Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects in the Civils and Water sectors.
- Deliver projects to the specified quality without defects.
- Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen, ensuring work is delivered safely, without environmental incidents, and to the required quality.
- Produce and implement Project Plans, Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Waste Management Plans as required.
- Manage the commercial performance of the contract, ensuring maximum value is achieved.
- Develop and manage the project construction programme, including producing two-week look aheads.
- Coordinate procurement schedules and liaise with procurement teams to ensure adequate resources are available.
Cost Control:
- Manage the project cost plan, ensuring budget control and maximising value.
- Maintain detailed site diaries and records.
- Identify and pursue value engineering opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Agent in a water environment.
- Experience in commercial and planning roles, with a solid understanding of RAMS.
- Knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, programme and risk management, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to challenge designs and resolve issues.
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- CSCS Manager's Card (mandatory).
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Confined Space training.
- Desirable:
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 and JCT/NEC contracts.
