The Role

We are recruiting for a Digital Marketing Executive on behalf of a well-established UK retailer. This role will focus on managing and optimising digital content strategies, coordinating email marketing campaigns, and enhancing customer engagement across online platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the online content strategy aligned with communication plans, using suitable channels to meet audience needs
  • Manage all aspects of email campaigns, including planning, segmentation, testing, and performance optimisation
  • Develop and maintain email marketing test plans, analyse results, and provide insights for continuous improvement
  • Track and evaluate email performance, offering recommendations based on customer trends and behaviours
  • Oversee website content to ensure it provides an optimised, user-friendly, and brand-consistent experience
  • Update the content management system (CMS) regularly for promotions, seasonal events, and ad hoc campaigns
  • Utilise CRM tools to identify and maximise online marketing opportunities
  • Manage and optimise mobile and digital display ad campaigns, with a focus on ROI and effective targeting
  • Lead SEO efforts for relevant content areas, updating regularly through SEO tracking tools
  • Ensure GDPR compliance across all data handling, including data transfer, hygiene, and opt-out management
  • Provide regular performance reports, delivering actionable insights to the business
  • Collaborate with in-house teams to develop engaging and brand-aligned creative content
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration
  • Stay informed on digital trends to maintain competitive advantage and drive innovation
  • Work with digital team members to ensure consistency and relevance of online content
  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager to ensure all online channels align with the customer journey

Candidate Criteria

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a data-driven approach to digital marketing
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational abilities
  • Knowledge of the retail or convenience sector beneficial
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms, product catalogues, and CMS systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Relevant degree or qualification in marketing (e.g., CIM or similar)
  • Background in digital marketing or e-communications within a commercial environment preferred
  • Experience in developing customer-focused, engaging online content
  • Skilled in utilising CRM systems for optimising digital marketing campaigns
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and compliance with GDPR guidelines
  • Team player with a collaborative approach and adaptability to new digital platforms
  • Ability to understand the customer journey and digital channel roles
  • Experience in delivering concise reports to inform business decisions
