AdministratorRemote but reporting to office on a regular basis in the midlandsPermanent £28,000 per annum We’re working with one of the largest UK payroll providers, leading firm of Accountants and Business Advisers operating across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. They are expanding their services and require an Administrator to join there team within their Payroll Service line. To ensure the accurate and timely processing of BACS files for the group. You will also be responsible for effectively communicating with clients, offices, and third-party providers. To make sure we are always giving clients the best payroll service you will need to keep up to date with all payroll legislation and industry changes though independent research whilst complying with internal procedures. The role
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of BACS files to agreed deadlines.
  • Responsible for all administration connected to BACS processing in a timely manner
  • Responsible for all administration connected with processing BACS files
  • Maintain new clients linked to the BACS Bureaux and manage ex-clients being unlinked.
  • Set up and maintain service users on BACS software.
  • Assist with maintaining and developing internal procedures, checklists and guidance
  • Acting as first line support for BACS queries.
  • Ensure all reasonable requests received from internal/external clients are carried out in a complete, accurate and timely manner ensuring internal clients are informed of progress and status
  • Peer checking of BACS changes and activity.
  • Undertake general administrative duties and work collaboratively within the BACS team.
  • Develop relationships with clients, payroll teams, BACS organisations and software providers.
  • Effectively communicating with team and wider payroll teams.
  • Requirement to keep up to date with industry changes though independent research.
 What is required?
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work.
  • A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision.
  • Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle queries by Teams, telephone and email.
  • Be able to adapt to a highly changeable environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.  
  • Develop own professional expertise through on the job training, formal training and, where appropriate, professional qualifications.
  • Good Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s.
  • Previous payroll administration and BACS processing experience would be desirable but not essential.
