Project Manager
Location: North London
Organisation: Tier 1 Main Contractor, large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure specialist
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum + car allowance + excellent benefits
The Role:
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee and deliver multiple ongoing projects in the Southern Region. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Estimating Department, engineers, and surveyors, your role will involve managing the construction process, ensuring safety compliance, and meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
General Management:
- Produce financial forecasts, monitor project costs, and report on performance.
- Lead projects from the design phase through to completion, ensuring proper handover documentation.
- Oversee resource planning and monitor progress to ensure budgets and timelines are adhered to.
- Conduct site meetings, produce accurate records, and track actions.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and design consultants.
- Develop and maintain construction programmes with internal teams.
- Coordinate site investigations and develop engineering solutions for cost-effective construction.
Commercial Management:
- Maintain commercial control to drive cost efficiencies.
- Prepare estimates for additional work and assist with tendering new projects.
- Assist with business development efforts, including chasing new clients.
Key Requirements:
Essential:
- Experience in clean and foul water projects, particularly with Thames Water.
- TWC, SMSTS, SEATS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, and risk management.
- Ability to use project management software like Primavera P6.
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- CSCS manager’s card.
- Strong communication, team management, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT contract forms.
- MEICA capabilities and NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- CEng MICE status.
