Purchaser required to join a leading provider of subcontract machining and fabrication services, delivering high-quality, precision-engineered solutions to a wide range of industries. They are seeking a diligent and proactive Purchaser to join our team and manage the procurement of materials, components, and services essential to our operations.

Purchaser Position Overview
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Continuously seek new suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Procurement Planning: Work closely with the production and engineering teams to understand material requirements and create procurement plans that align with production schedules and inventory levels.
  • Order Placement: Issue purchase orders for materials, components, and services based on production needs. Monitor order progress and ensure timely delivery.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company. Ensure contracts and agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased materials and components meet the required quality standards. Coordinate with quality control teams to address any issues with suppliers.
  • Cost Control: Track and analyze purchasing expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Problem Solving: Address any supply chain disruptions, delays, or quality issues with suppliers. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve procurement-related challenges.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Purchaser Position Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Purchaser, Buyer, or in a similar procurement role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and negotiation techniques.
  • Knowledge of machining and fabrication processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards

  • Full time - Permanent position
