Poolhall Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-known civil engineering consultancy for an experienced quantity surveyor. Candidates with 3+ years of industry experience as a QS would be advantageous. A preference to civil engineering and ground works would also be an advantage to the application.

An element of hybrid working is also available. The client would like the successful candidate to be in office for a minimum of three days per week.

Following a period of sustained growth and success our client are looking to add to their growing commercial team. The successful candidate will carry out all tasks in relation to cost management. Site visits will also be required to give commercial advice whilst also identifying and correctly notifying variations, extensions of time, and other standard practices.

This is a varied role, with multiple sites running at any one time. This calls for an experienced quantity surveying candidate looking for challenge. In turn the successful candidate will be rewarded with a role which gives growth to professional development. 

Responsibilities

  • Review of the client’s main contract and terms and conditions
  • Ongoing cost analysis of projects
  • Perform risk and value management
  • Agree payments with the clients and sub-contractors and final accounts
  • Prepare monthly project costs and value reports
  • Produce financial reports for the board of directors
  • Deal with any claims to the clients
  • Prepare cost to complete budgets
  • Regular meetings with the client
  • Work from home 1 day a week
