The Role:
Youll join a West Midlands-based team working on a high-tech manufacturing project for a highly regulated industrial client. Your primary focus will be on investigating commercial gaps caused by design changes and ensuring the recovery of missed payments by leveraging your in-depth contractual expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluating incidents and making decisions on claims while navigating NEC contracts to ensure maximum cost recovery.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with a focus on cooperation and mediation, rather than conflict over minor amounts.
Fighting for every penny on behalf of the contractor, using your negotiation skills and commercial savvy.
Working across any NEC contract form (with experience in Option C as a plus), though candidates with experience in any NEC option will be considered.
Strong experience with impacted programmes and ensuring all recoverable funds are claimed.
You wont be tied up with cost reporting, CVRs, or payment applications this role is all about contractual claims and recovery.
Requirements:
Extensive experience working on the contractor side, with a proven ability to fight for money and maximise recovery.
Strong understanding of NEC contracts (any option), with Option C experience considered a bonus.
A background in dealing with complex, high-value projects in highly regulated industries, ideally with some exposure to M&E or technical projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on preserving client relationships while recovering funds.
Ability to be based in the West Midlands office 3-4 days per week, with flexibility for remote working.
Available to start ASAP.
6+ month contract with the potential for extension.
This role is Outside IR35.
