Manpower is looking for an experienced and motivated Production Shift Supervisor to join our client's team in Walsall/Wednesbury. This role is crucial in overseeing the safe and efficient processing of waste cooking oil within a fast-paced production facility.

Role Overview
As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing shift operations, ensuring health and safety compliance, and driving production efficiency. Your role will be split into two key areas:

  • Shift Supervision - Oversee the entire site, ensuring operational safety, personnel management, plant efficiency, and security.
  • Production Operations - Actively participate in the production process by handling, loading, and feeding waste cooking oil into the production line for distribution.

Your leadership will be vital in maintaining production targets, ensuring high standards, and supporting a smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are strictly followed when handling waste cooking oil.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety regulations at all times.


Quality Control & Production Management:

  • Monitor and conduct regular quality checks on incoming and outgoing products, ensuring compliance with company and client specifications.
  • Identify and report any variances, damages, or quality issues.
  • Ensure production throughput targets are met and properly recorded.


Team Supervision & Collaboration:

  • Work alongside the Shift Manager to allocate tasks and ensure full staffing coverage for each shift.
  • Train and brief team members on their responsibilities, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Monitor production progress, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to optimise performance.


Warehouse & Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure the facility remains clean, organised, and hazard-free using "clean as you go" and deep-cleaning techniques.
  • Follow all environmental regulations for the safe handling and disposal of waste cooking oil.
  • Operate mechanical handling equipment (MHE) safely, including loading, unloading, and transporting containers.
  • Maintain and inspect MHE equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.



Who We're Looking For?

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production and warehouse operations, particularly within the liquid or Oil industry.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in production and warehouse environments, with a strong understanding of operational efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Experience handling liquid materials in an industrial setting.
  • A valid Forklift License, with demonstrated proficiency in operating forklift trucks.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification to ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills (minimum GCSE Grade B in Maths and English).
  • Previous experience leading small teams in a production or processing facility is highly desirable.
