Looking for a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant!

Are you passionate about supporting students' well-being and helping them thrive academically? Look no further! Tradewind is seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to provide essential pastoral support to students at an 'Outstanding' PRU School in Walsall.

The school supports pupils between the ages of 7 and 18 years of age who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism. All pupils have an EHCP. Many of the children are of complex needs, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviour.

About the role:

Providing emotional support and guidance to students facing personal challenges or difficulties.

Assisting students in developing effective coping strategies and resilience skills.

Collaborating with teachers to implement individualised support plans for students with specific needs.

Monitoring students' well-being and identifying any potential safeguarding concerns.

Facilitating workshops and group sessions on topics such as mental health, stress management, and study skills.

Building strong relationships with students and their families, fostering open lines of communication and trust.

Who are we looking for?

An individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills.

Ability to develop trusting relationships with the young people and staff.

Ability to reliably work to instruction as well as take the initiative when circumstances demand.
